Only work if your phone is rooted.
Reboot phone to make sure everything is A-okay.
Open BuildProp Editor. Grant root access for 15min. (never permanently grant permission to apps)
Scroll down to the ro.product.* area.
Make sure you write down the original values of each item.
Because my phone was already a Motorola phone all I needed to change was:
Now my co-workers phone was a HTC phone. He had two .model lines and I changed the manufacture line as well just to be sure. Each phone will be different so look around and see if anything else needs to be changed.
Original settings:
Changed to:
Reboot your phone. (BuildProp Editor will ask you if you want to reboot. Click No each time it ask you. You have to reboot the phone manually at the end of the process.)
Once your phone is back up run ingress. You should get a shit ton of stuff.
Once your phone is back up run ingress. You should get a shit ton of stuff.
Close ingress completely.
Open BuildProp Editor again. Change the values back to the original settings.
Reboot your phone.
YAY! TOAST
what Motorola phone do you have. I tried this on a Droid Bionic XT875, no ultra strikes yet. Any ideas.Would using AOKP rom be a problem?
hell nevermind. works like a charm on my bionic. not sure if this did it but changed ro.product.manufacturer=Motorola to
ro.product.manufacturer=motorola
Thanks for the build.prop info
Yes, everything is case sensitive. make sure its exact.
Anyone know if this works on an S3?
Yeah, It will work on any Android phone that has been rooted.
Just worked perfect on a Runbo X5! thanks a lot! ;)
Works perfect on a HTC OneX! Thx
work perfect on samsung galaxy s3
thanks
What happens if I keep the setting and play ingress with this setting???
Why you must change it back to original ??
Please answer this question..
Thanks :)
You don't have to but it could mess up other games or other apps. I save the changes and flip back and forth because when you hack in game you can get more ultra Strikes. So only use the edit settings in game.
Oh..
I see...
So when you play ingress.
Restore this setting..
When you're not played ingress, restore the original setting..
Like that?
Okay, got it..
Thanks a lot buddy..
Saves a lot of my money.
Lol
How do I edit the file to run the SGS3? I'm unable to do so
Nice, thanks for the info.
I used a terminal emulator and had to take a few steps:
1. change to admin.
su
2. mount the file system as read write.
mount -o rw,remount /system
3. Change the permissions to be able to edit the build.prop file.
chmod 666 build.prob
4. Edit the file with your favourite text editor
5. Dont forget to change the file premissions back.
chmod 444 build.prop
6. Reboot and start ingress.
50 L8 xmps
50 L8 resos
5 L8 Ultra strikes
10 L8 Power Cubes
I don't know, what i must to do, to work.. Anyway - don't work 4 me. SGS3
Regards.
I had the same problem at first.
The "problem" appears to have been that, at least when using the BuildPropEditor, you have to edit the build.prop - file using "Menu > Edit" instead of directly editing and saving a value.
This solved it for me. I hope it will for you as well.
Thanks. Works well. Did with a root explorer.
Is this still working?
Ive tried it through ES File Explorer and Build Prop Editor with no joy
I did this to my S3 last month, and it worked, I've noticed recently that ultra strikes have stopped dropping from hacks, this may not work anymore.
